Mouch and Company The Dream Psychic eBook Bob Dixon
This book was plugged by an author I enjoy so I thought I would take a looksy. The description was interesting enough that I bought it (love the instant gratification with Kindle!). Life is hectic so I thought I would get it read over a day or two - instead I ended up staying up until I was completely finished and wanting more! I read a lot of books, many of which are YA and I can honestly say this book felt fresh and new compared to most. The characters are so vibrant and *different* from the norm that even though you know (generally) how things will work out, the ride is so fun you just don't care. I have actively promoted this book to my friends because it is great and, hey, it has a guardian teddy bear! Even more refreshing (at least in Book 1 - I understand there will be more!) there are NO vampires, werewolves or zombies!

“Mouch and Company The Dream Psychic” by Bob Dixon is a story of a 14 year old boy named Mouch who is locked away in Talsom mental asylum with schizophrenia. His so called “schizophrenia” is caused by the presence of his two best friends, Sherman, a sarcastic sock puppet and Mav, his specter shadow protector. Shortly after the story begins Mouch is visited by a man named Dr. Jenkins, who reveals to Mouch that his is not crazy and actually a psychic. Dr. Jenkins asks Mouch to come to his school, Brookwood Academy, so he can develop his skills as a psychic.
The reader finds out that Mouch is actually a very rare psychic called a dream psychic meaning he can bring items and people out of his dreams and can also see the future and past in his dreams. Because of his skills he becomes a target of and evil man named Pith who is hell bent on destroying Mouch. The story takes the reader through Mouch’s trials and tribulations as he learns to use his psychic gifts and grow as an individual.
First off I would like to say that this book absolutely blew me out of the water. The story is very original and not like all the other paranormal books on the market that seem to only revolve around vampires, wares and witches. Bob Dixon did an excellent job of pulling the reader into the story from the beginning and getting the reader to care about Mouch and his plight.
I also really enjoyed the comedic relief that was brought into the story from the secondary characters. Sherman the sock puppet was my favorite character because of his witty sarcastic remarks that always seemed to bring humor to very tense situations. As an adult reader, I love a little bit more nail biting to my tension however the story is written for the Teen/Young Adult crowd.
Bottom line, I would definitely recommend this book to any of my paranormal reading friends. The story is original and the author uses a relatable protagonist to pull the readers along for the ride.
PS I am in no way related to the author, we just happen to share the same awesome last name.
Received book free of charge from author.
I was given and e-copy in exchange for my honest review.
The book revolves around a 14 year boy names Mouch, that has been locked up at the Talsom Mental Asylum. He has 2 close friends there with him, Mav His shadow friend, and Sherman a sock puppet. He has no clue of anything before being at mental asylum, but standing in the middle of a mall wearing nothing but polka dotted boxers, bunny slippers, a hat made of news paper, and being covered in blood. After some amount of time in the asylum, he is visited by an older man that asks him to join him at a school that will teach him about his "gifts" Mouch has always been told he was crazy, but has come to learn that his is psychic and holds many talents. He agrees to attend, makes a few friends, but also finds out that the dreams/nightmares he has been having holds the key of what is to come. There are dark forces out there that want Mouch destroyed. The whole idea of being crazy is starting to sound a lot better than this psychic thing. Mouch has many things to learn, but will he learn them in time to save himself and his friends?
I loved this book. It kept me interested from beginning to end. When asked whom my favorite character is, I say Mouch, Mav, and Sherman. They are the complete package, and you can't have one without the other. I hope to see more of Mouch and the gang. I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys twists and turns, and a good imagination. The storyline and characters will make you open your mind to the crazy and insane parts of the unknown.

The bunny slippers got my attention; the writing pulled me in.
Mouch is a surprisingly normal teenage boy with a dry, quirky sense of humour - and a few not-so-imaginary friends.
His life is filled with mysteries, including who he is and where he came from, and his story is far from ordinary.
Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down.
Okay, so I really love the idea of a sock puppet who talks back! Sherman was one of my favorite characters (almost impossible to have a favorite because all contribute to the addicting read) due to his sarcastic off-hand comments. Gotta love him! I bought the book on a recommendation from a friend and couldn't put it down. Now I'm sad... where is book 2???? Bob says "soon", but as his soon and my soon obviously don't agree, I'm checking out other reads by this cool author to pass the time... I'll be first in line for book 2!
